The CGSC Foundation assisted the Command and General Staff College’s School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) program in hosting a National Security Roundtable program April 9-10, 2012, at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. The panels conducted during the roundtable were focused on priorities for 21st century defense, strategy in the U.S. Pacific Command- India and China, and on educating strategic leaders for the military. Fifteen civilian business leaders participated in the roundtable.
Lt. Gen. David G. Perkins provided remarks on April 9 to kick off the roundtable. Day 2 consisted of a tour of the Lewis and Clark Center led by retired Colonel Lynn Rolf, a short stint inside the SAMS seminar groups conversing with the students and the panels. At the conclusion of the day each participant received a certificate, a group photo and a Foundation coin to commemorate their visit to the College. Closing remarks were provided by Col. Michael J. Johnson, assistant deputy commandant of CGSC.
